Christmas shopping

I am so proud of myself! I put the turbo on the shopping today and the result is that I've bought practically almost all my Christmas presents. I DID give me a headache though, but at least I won't have that hanging over my head - besides there's no more room upthere with work and exam taking up the space...

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Take That get ready for comeback

Oh my God, oh my God. No, I don't mind admitting it, I was a huge fan, and I have to say, quite dissapointed that they're only touring in London - I'd love to go see the first group I was ever really truly fan of... :-D

Exchange, part 3

Yep, here we go again...

Everytime I go talk to the exchange coordinator, I feel like I'm starting at square 1. This time, she wanted to know why I wanted to go in my 8th semester, since the fact that it would be my first semester at English and it wouldn't be possible to transfer all the subjects I need to do on that semester... I pointed out to her that I major in English and that I have already done all of those subjects...

So, being past all that, it turns out I'm way early applying - I thought I had to apply in March, but it's not till November. Then there's the fact that she wants me to wait till my 9th semester, because of the language issue - basically she thinks, it will be too difficult for me to follow classes, if I go straight after studying Nordic.

I'm still a bit annoyed with that, because I really don't think the language will be that big of a problem. And I really wanna DO SOMETHING, I guess I'm getting a bit itchy ;) But I'm considering waiting because of purely practical, hence economic, reasons. For instance, I will be able to keep my job longer - I might not be able to get a job, when I come back - I can earn all the money I want in the first 6 months of the year, giving me the possiblity to save up, and also, Mads will be done with his education when I leave, making it easier for him economically while I'm gone.

But those are all the practical, boring reasons. I'm having a hard time coping with the fact that I'd spend another 18months working, going to school, studying, wrking, going to school... you get the point. But then again, I can't take time off anyways for another year, so it doesn't really make THAT much of a difference.

I have six months to make up my mind.

And comments are very welcome.

Another one bites the dust...

My mobile phone is dead. Doesn't want to read the sim card. They never last for long those things.

But I already found my new mobile. It's just come out, it's girly and it's expensive:Fancy :D

"Nynne"

Dato&tid: 20/11, 19:00
Sted: Cinemaxx

Daniel i "Bridget Jones' Diary": "I just don't work without you, Bridget."
Henrik i "Nynne" : "Jeg virker ikke uden dig."

Hmmmm....

"Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire"

Date&time: 19/11, 21:30
Place: Cinemaxx
With: Hanne, Britta and Mads

I guess having read all the books twice, I'm not excactly what you'd call unbiased with regards to this film. I had looked so much forward to this film. And I simply loved it. It was comical, sad and a genuine thriller at times (even though I knew what happened). And that Daniel Radcliff - hey, he's turning 18 in a couple of years ;-) (UK's wealthiest teenager, by the way!)

And the fact that I love the books, gives me a different perspective, I guess. Despite the film being about three hours long, of course they still couldn't fit the full story of the book into it - or rather all the extra stories that run alongside the main plot. But I think they did a great job, converting the film - picking out the important things; making the characters come alive.

Well, the message is pretty simple - go watch it!

"The Exorcism of Emily Rose"

Date&time: 18/11, 21:30
Place: Cinemaxx
With: Sophie

I don't think this was what people had really expected, let alone us. Expection a regular horror film, we found ourselves watching a film about the trial against the priest who tried to perform an exorcism on this girl, Emily Rose. But of course, through the witnesses telling the story, we got to see it as it happened - and there were some freaking scary episodes. It's supposed to be based on a true story, which made it all more interesting, and it was definitely one of the better films, I've seen lately - I think, because it didn't try to be a horror film, because it wasn't about the truly gross things that happened with the girl, but more about believing...

Mind you, however mature this approach is, I still found myself waking up in the middle of the night, wondering what the time was, seeing as the film had told ud that 3 a.m is the witching hours where the demons "come out to play"...

CSI rocks!!

I wachted the last episode of last season's CSI, which was part of a double episode directed by Quinten Taranino. If you watch the show, this is the one, where Nick Stokes is kidnapped and buried alive in a plexiglass casket - his kidnapper is keeping him alive by feeding the casket with fresh air and the whole thing is being watched by the CSI teaam, who have a live feed og Nick.

I have to say that I only ever started watching this show, because we used to live with this Aussie bloke, Adam, who watched it. I'd come down to the living room during an episode and think it was immensely gross, but still watched it. And now I can't miss it, and I also find myself watching "CSI Miami" (that David Caruso is one cool dude!) and "CSI N.Y." (even though I don't like like the people starring it!).

Anyways, my point was, that the episode last night was definitely one of the best ever; super-freaky, but terribly exciting even though I knew what the outcome was (since I'm already watchin the next seaon). Nick Stokes is played by a guy called George Eads (who turns out to have had a role in the series "Savannah", that I watched when I was 15), and he played the whole "I'm freaking out, cause I was buried alive"-thing fantasticly!

Thumbs up :)

Exchange, part 2

So I heard back from the student councellor. Apparently, I CAN go abroad on my 8th semester, but of course there are a few problems:

1) I can't get behind at all on my exams, because then I'll probably ahve to go back and take classes on my bachelor level (the two years I already finished).

2) In connection with that, they're actuslly changing the criteria for my education at the moment, so right now, I can't know for sure which classes I'm supposed to do abroad, because they might change it.

3) Because I'll be on my 8th semester, my level will be so advanced that some of the classes I'll want/have to take might not be available through the exchange program, becaus they cost extra.

...hmmm, so they're actuallt saying that my English might not be good enough for me to go, but at the same time, I might be too good to go?

*sigh*

Feeling old...

Do you know that feeling, where you hear a song, and it reminds you of all sorts of stuff? I was at lovely BAUHAUS today (working my arse off, of course...), when this song comes out of the speakers:

"But I got to hang on now
hang on to get her love
wanna feel those lips
again and again
Those eyes are really happy
got to feel the beauty inside
I've got to hang on for her love
Got to hang on"

Maybe not the most amazing lyrics ever (googled my way to finding out that it's written and performed by Jesper Lundgaard), but it was the song that was the big club hit, when I started drinking, going out and meeting guys in my senior year of high school. I just got to thinkin about how much fun that was - had my first kiss, first snog, first boyfriend, first time drunk and first time going under the table within the same two months...it was a bit mad actually :)

So right there, in the middle of all the bloody flowers, I got all reminiscent...

...then I snapped out of it and thought; "God, I'm only 24, and I already act like high school was 20years ago"...

...and then I went home and went to bed at 8:30, so maybe I'm just 24 on the outside and 80 on the inside - but hey, then Mads and I make a good match :D

Girly stuff

Okay, I know this one might be way old, but it's still soooo funny - and I especially enjoy the Canada and Oz references :-D

Up and running + Exchange, part 1

Yeah, well you all knew it had to happen - my very own blog!! Not really sure what it's gonna contain yet, except for a lot of English, which leads me to the second part of my very first blog entry:

It's my plan to go on Exchange in a year, since that is when I'll be finished with my Nordic studies. So I went to talk to the exchange coordinator at English, who told me that it might be a problem applying to English-speaking countries since I, at the time I want to leave, haven't been studying English (from their perspective using the language at all). Hmm...and the reason I didn't go straight after my fourth semester at English, was that the uni told me I had to do my second subject immediately - *sigh*. So now, the first thing to do is apparently keep my English up, so I guess doing some of this is in English is a start!

Anyways, enjoy people :-)
